Make this your best summer yet!
“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it”(Psalm 118:24 NKJV).
Tired and don't know what to cook tonight? Pick up a bucket of fried chicken and picnic on your patio while you watch the sun set.
Take a vacation from the stove and use your crock pot. Go to www.foodnetwork.com and check out their collection of crock pot recipes, summer salads, 30 minute meals, and burger recipes.
Make time to read at least one book this summer.
Go to a farmer’s market and afterward, enjoy a meal of fresh produce.
Make ice cream. Eat ice cream!
If you can't go to the beach, bring the beach to you. Decorate your dinner table with shells.
You know the summer will bring heavier traffic through the house. Make up your mind now to stress less over it. Buy a Swiffer Vac for quick clean-ups.
Ideas for Moms
Whether you are working outside the home or are pulling your work load at home, the summer is a great time to take advantage of the homework free evenings to spend quality time with your child.
Enjoyable ways to encourage spiritual growth in your kids this summer:
Read a few pages a day of Dangerous Journey, to your children. It is the story of Pilgrim’s Progress rewritten for children. This book has outstanding illustrations on every page and teaches spiritual lessons in a manner that will not soon be forgotten.

Take your child to
Vacation
Bible
School.
Discuss one chapter a day from the Proverbs with your teenager. One parent I know read chapters of the book of Proverbs aloud from the passenger seat while their teenage son was learning to drive.
Just plain fun . . .
Go to www.familyfun.go.com and check out the activities that are new for the summer. They have games, printables, crafts, vacation ideas, backyard activities, and summer recipes such as grilled pound cake. While perusing the site, I saw a cute idea for a Father’s Day Cake served in a shirt box.
